Pho Akaushi Review
Where to Eat in Orlando (Avalon Park)
Review
Pho Akaushi - Award-Winning Vietnamese-French Cuisine in Avalon Park Orlando
Now I know why Pho Akaushi was voted Best Vietnamese Restaurant in Orlando in 2025 — every dish we tried was thoughtful, flavorful, and beautifully executed from start to finish!
Fresh, Light & Perfectly Balanced Starters
We started with the appetizers, and they immediately set the bar high. The Hanoi Half-Moons were exceptional — tender steamed pork dumplings served with scallions and a homemade chili oil that delivered just the right amount of heat without overpowering the delicate flavors. We also ordered the Summer Fresh Spring Rolls (Goi Cuon), and they were absolutely delicious. These fresh, hand-rolled rice paper rolls were packed with vermicelli noodles, bean sprouts, fresh greens, and cilantro, and served with a rich, creamy peanut sauce that tied everything together beautifully. Light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced, they’re a must-order appetizer. The Steamed Edamame with truffle oil was another standout. Perfectly cooked and lightly seasoned, the truffle oil added a subtle richness that elevated the dish without overwhelming the natural flavor of the edamame.
Bold, Comforting Vietnamese Classics
For entrées, we ordered both the Classic Banh Mi with pork and the Poulet Saigon Rice Platter, and both were outstanding. The Banh Mi was served on freshly baked French bread, filled with juicy, flame-grilled pork, pickled carrots, cilantro, jalapeño, scallions, white onion, fried onions, lettuce, and spicy mayo — delivering the perfect balance of crunch, heat, and savory richness. The Poulet Saigon Rice Platter was a comforting and flavorful standout. The house-marinated grilled chicken was tender, well-seasoned, and served over fragrant coconut jasmine rice, accompanied by lettuce, pickled carrots, cucumber slices, cilantro, and topped with fried onions and scallions. Every bite was satisfying, aromatic, and beautifully composed.
Paired with lunch was the Love in Bloom Rose Lemonade, a refreshing, lightly floral drink that was crisp, bright, and not overly sweet — the perfect complement to the bold flavors of the meal.
The Bowl That Steals the Show
And of course, the Pho is the star. The broth is clean, deeply aromatic, and layered with rich flavor that tastes like it’s been simmered for hours. This Pho is exactly why this restaurant earned its Best Vietnamese Restaurant in Orlando award — the depth of flavor, clarity of the broth, and balance in every bowl are simply incredible. Tender meat, perfectly cooked noodles, and fresh herbs make each bowl comforting, refined, and unforgettable.
Light and Sweet Finish
Don’t skip dessert. The daily pastry specials were a delightful finish — a Mango Passion Fruit Eclair that was light, bright, and perfectly balanced, and a Chocolate Cream Puff Pastry that was rich yet airy. We paired dessert with a pour over Vietnamese Iced Coffee, bold, creamy, and perfectly strong — the ideal ending to a memorable meal.
